UNEP Study on Establishing the Congo Basin Forest Fund Governance
In the framework of the establishment of the Congo Basin Forest Fund,
which will initially be based on the important contribution of £ 50 Million
offered by the British government, the United Nations Programme for Environment
(UNEP) has been missioned to work on the establishment of a possible governance
structure for this fund.
The report comprises views and perceptions of
different stakeholders actively involved in activities in the forests of the
Congo Basin, as well as a number of scenario given an established governance
structure and the fund's working modus.

This Congo Basin Forest Fund (CBF) Discussion Paper is based on research undertaken, consultations conducted and a written report by Dr Stephen Cobb and Julie Gale of the Environment and Developmen Group (EDG) Oxford. It is being distributed to inform interested parties of some of the issues being raised and analysed by the CBF Co-Chairs, the UK Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Forests, DFID, and Congo Basin Forest Partnership members.
