ATIBT: Full Success for the Workshop on High Conservation Value Forests (February 26-29, in Douala)
Forest certification in Congo Basin is in progress (3 million hectares certified FSC in February 1, 2009). However an accredited standard for certification for the region does not exist. Within the framework of its project "kickstart of the certification in Congo Basin" funded by the German and French co-operations, the ATIBT thus seeks to provide answers to the principal criticisms concerning social issues and High Value Conservation Forest, through the organization of exchanges between all the stakeholders.
To understand the stakes of this workshop on High Conservation Value Forests in Congo Basin which was held in Douala in February 26-27, 2009, ATIBT makes available online the synthesis of workshop, the complete report, presentations of speakers, the list of the participants and the definition of principle 9 of the FSC on the FHVC.
